Trans North Bus Service runs buses from Cairns to Kuranda for $4.00 each way.  Visitors arriving in the village via the Savannahlander Train, Kuranda Scenic Railway or Skyrail Rainforest Cableway have only a 5 minute walk to our Villas.

Mountain biking is allowed in the Kuranda and Mowbray National Parks and no permit is required.  From Kuranda, take the Black Mountain Road turnoff, 300 metres to the eastern side of the Barron River Bridge at Kuranda. Each villa has been tastefully decorated and includes those extras which make a stay perfectly comfortable, like locally grown and roasted coffee from the Kuranda Coffee Republic.  Both self-contained villas feature an outdoor seating and barbecue area, the optimum way to enjoy the small lush tropical gardens. You will be enchanted by the abundance of native birds feeding on a variety of flowering trees and shrubs.

Kuranda was founded in 1876 and inhabited by the Djabugay aboriginal people. Tourism began in the area at the beginning of the twentieth century when it became known as Kuranda The Beautiful by the thousands of tourists who came to Far North Queensland. 

 The village is located in the rainforest 330 metres above sea level in the Cairns Highlands. The climate is cooler and much less humid and just 30 km from Cairns up the scenic Kuranda Range Road with views overlooking the Great Barrier Reef.  It is a place to explore and enjoy in all seasons.

Kuranda is surrounded by World Heritage listed wet tropics rainforest with approximately 1,200 species of flowering plants, 800 of which are rainforest trees. 

The Cairns Highlands, also known as the Atherton Tablelands, is the bird watching capital of Australia.  There are over 430 bird species in the Wet Tropics and the Great Barrier Reef making Kuranda Villas the perfect base for bird watching and wildlife tours.
